કુર્મ પુરાણ (IAST: KūrmaPurāṇa) એ અઢાર મહાન પુરાણોમાંનું એક છે અને હિન્દુ ધર્મમાં મધ્યયુગીન વૈષ્ણવ ગ્રંથ છે. આ લખાણનું નામ ભગવાન વિષ્ણુના કાચબાના અવતાર પરથી રાખવામાં આવ્યું છે.

કુર્મ પુરાણની હસ્તપ્રતો આધુનિક યુગમાં વિવિધ સંસ્કરણોમાં અસ્તિત્વમાં છે. સ્થાનિક હસ્તપ્રત અનુસાર કેસોની સંખ્યા બદલાય છે અને કુર્મ પુરાણની સુધારેલી આવૃત્તિ (આનંદ સ્વરૂપ ગુપ્તા દ્વારા સંપાદિત, અખિલ ભારતીય કાશીરાજ ટ્રસ્ટ, વારાણસી દ્વારા પ્રકાશિત)માં 95 કેસ છે. પરંપરા મુજબ કર્મ પુરાણમાં 17,000 શ્લોક છે અને હાલની હસ્તપ્રતોમાં લગભગ 6,000 શ્લોકો છે.

લુડો રોચર કહે છે કે ધાર્મિક વિચારની ચર્ચામાં આ લખાણ તમામ પુરાણોમાં સૌથી વધુ રસપ્રદ છે, કારણ કે તે વૈષ્ણવ ગ્રંથ હોવા છતાં, તે વિષ્ણુ ગ્રંથ પર પ્રભુત્વ ધરાવતું નથી. તેના બદલે, ટેક્સ્ટ વિષ્ણુ, શિવ અને શક્તિને શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ આપે છે અને સમાન ઉત્સાહ વ્યક્ત કરે છે. અન્ય પુરાણોની જેમ, કુર્મ પુરાણમાં પૌરાણિક કથાઓ, દંતકથાઓ, ભૂગોળ, તીર્થમ (તીર્થ), ધર્મશાસ્ત્ર અને સૈદ્ધાંતિક સ્તોત્રોનો સમાવેશ થાય છે. તેણીની ગીતાનું નોંધપાત્ર પાસું, જેને ઈશ્વર ગીતા પણ કહેવાય છે, તે એ છે કે તે ભગવદ ગીતામાં મળેલા વિચારોની જેમ જ તેને વ્યક્ત કરે છે.
